Arsenal in contact over “incredible revelation” with club now willing to sell

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was against using a specialist right-back at the Emirates, preferring Ben White to fill the role instead.

Before joining the Gunners, White had only played 10 games for the four teams on the right wing, but he has now played in the position 65 times over the past three seasons.

He has only completed three out of the 25 games he has played as a primary defender this season.

White’s limited attacking record (one goal, one assist in all competitions) is unsurprising given his positional background, but Arteta offers a genuinely attractive alternative with a very different profile.

Takehiro Tomiyasu does not have a defined role and plays on the back line when needed, while the experienced Cedric has only played 65 minutes and two games this season.

One way for the Gunners to move forward could be to bring in a more natural right-back who can become a starter.

One such candidate, Galatasaray’s Sascha Boye, said his club held “meetings” with Premier League title contenders last summer about a possible transfer, but their “interest” did not lead to a formal offer.

He claims that there was no connection. However, that could change quickly.

Arsenal in touch over Boey

According to Turkish broadcaster Sabah (via Sports Witness), Arsenal are reportedly making new “hot contacts” regarding Boey

This is a boost for the Emirates, as Galatasaray are said to be “open to offers” for the player, who is currently valued at €20m (about £17m).

What’s reassuring for Arteta is that Galatasaray already have a replacement in place.

If they lose Boii this month, they plan to recall Leo Dubois from his loan spell at Başaksehir, meaning any potential complications have already been overcome.

Boey has already shone in the Champions League.

Boilly moved to the Super Lig club in 2021 after spending time in the youth organization of French club Rennes.

Considering that he played every available moment in all competitions (29 matches in total), it is safe to say that he is one of Okan Burk’s most important players.

A look at the 23-year-old’s numbers reveals that he is an incredibly versatile full-back.

Last year, he had the fifth-most tackles (55) among players in Turkey’s top flight, and this year he is in the top 10 for interceptions (29).

He can definitely catch up in one-on-one situations and also reads the game well.
